Facebook launched Thursday an anonymous chat room app called Rooms, the latest creation to emerge from the company’s initiative to design more apps connecting people in different ways.Facebook rooms is same like we used in Nimbuzz , fring , we chat ,chatdud.org etc .
The free app, now available in the App Store only , Android user have to wait for some more weeks , allows users to create chat rooms for shared interests, from makeup mastery to city gardens, according to the app’s website. The app is entirely separate from Facebook and doesn’t require you to provide any revealing details like your name or your location.
Facebook Rooms offers a sleeker look with an emphasis on bright colors and lots of white space, while Room is definitely a bit clunkier visually. Rooms forces you to scan QR codes to join new chatrooms, while Room uses passwords which it calls “room keys.” Room also seems to offer a few extra features, including the ability to see who’s online in your chatroom at any given time.
* Pick a topic: Create a home for people who are as into the topic as you are.
* Customize the look and feel: Pick a color, choose an emoji for your like button, and more!
* Be whoever you want to be: Choose nicknames for yourself, real or made up.
* Share with others: Invite other people so you can share photos, videos, and notes with them.
“One of the things our team loves most about the Internet is its potential to let us be whoever we want to be,” Facebook explains in a blog post. “It doesn’t matter where you live, what you look like or how old you are—all of us are the same size and shape online. This can be liberating, but only if we have places that let us break away from the constraints of our everyday selves. We want the rooms you create to be freeing in this way.”
Facebook says that it wants people to create little communities that have the potential to grow into something huge. The social network is even inviting people to contact the Rooms team if they think their particular room is capable of becoming really popular. In the future, we’ll probably see rooms dedicated to Apple, Google, and specific video games pop up. But even if you’re not really into technology, you can create a room for whatever you want. Like one dedicated to the burritos, for example.
The app is currently available on iOS, with no word yet on a possible Android release.
